I started helping out my daughter Bridgette, when she was in 8th grade. We discussed what type of activities she would like to pursue in high school, and she focused on that road map we had developed in middle school. Bridgette graduated with high honors from the STEM program at (OLGCHS) Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. She chose to focus on STEM courses and participated in high school as a: varsity swim team captain, speech team member, entrepreneurship club president and founder, and was a social studies scholar. Her outside of school activities included volunteering at a retirement memory care center, tutoring middle school STEM students, 3D printing children's prosthetics for underprivileged children, participating in STEM summer internships, and competing nationally in swim and triathlon competitions. Bridgette took a mix of honors, AP, and IB courses.

Bridgette received over $1.6 million in merit scholarship which is the highest merit scholarship awarded thus far to an individual OLGCHS graduate. She chose to attend Johns Hopkins University majoring in mechanical engineering, robotics and computer science, Bridgette received a full merit scholarship to attend Johns Hopkins University as a Department of Defense SMART (Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation) Scholar as well as other merit awards from Northrop Grumman, Leidos, ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers), SME (Society of Manufacturing Engineers).

She was able to not only graduate debt free, but purchase her first property at age 19 with her merit scholarship proceeds. Bridgette graduated in 2023 with high honors from Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering and is now a mechanical engineer researcher at the United States Naval Surface Warfare Center. As a result of helping my daughter get accepted to a number of top colleges/universities with 4 year partial and full tuition merit scholarships, I started to work with other students to help them.
